Dragonchain Upgrade Announcement

Published on October 3, 2026
Upgradev0.6.4.2

1. Version Upgrade

Dragonchain has been upgraded to the new version v0.6.4.2 (upgraded from v0.6.4).

2. Main Fixes in This Upgrade

2.1 Wallet Large-Amount Transfer Issues

  • Added a single-transaction transfer limit of 48,000 DRGN: when the limit is exceeded, the wallet will prompt you to split the transfer to avoid the transaction failing because it is too large.
  • Fixed the issue where a transaction broadcast failure was silently swallowed and the wallet incorrectly showed "Sent": broadcast failures are now reported accurately, the transaction stays in the wallet, and you can retry or discard it.

2.2 Wallet Password / Encryption Error Issues

  • Fixed the issue where the wallet could not be unlocked with the correct password after encryption (including unlock crashes and bad key writes that made the entire wallet unopenable — 11 defects in total).
  • Fixed the issue where the "Decrypt Wallet" feature incorrectly reported "incorrect password"; it now accurately tells you whether this version supports decryption.
  • Completed the Chinese text on the encryption/unlock screens, with clearer and more accurate error messages.

3. How to Upgrade (Important: Back Up Before Upgrading!)

Please complete the following backups before upgrading, to prevent accidents:

  1. Back up the wallet file wallet.dat: copy and save it to multiple secure locations (offline media / USB drive is recommended), and never overwrite the original file.
  2. Back up your private keys: export the private keys from the wallet (dumpwallet or export them one by one) and keep them safe offline. Private keys are the only way to recover your assets.
  3. Stop the old version of the wallet / node.
  4. Download the new version v0.6.4.2 and replace the binary files (dragonchaind, dragonchain-cli, dragonchain-qt).
  5. Restart the wallet / node.

Note: This upgrade has no consensus-layer changes and is fully compatible with existing nodes and miners, so no on-chain migration is required; however, backing up your private keys and wallet file before upgrading is a mandatory safety step.
